Another bird-box occupied!
Bird-box occupied by Tree Bumblebees - Sustead Common
I was down at Sustead Common yesterday, looking to see if any more of the bird-boxes we put up in February were occupied. The box near the main gate has a pair of Blue Tit in it and the box near the bridge has... a colony of Tree Bumblebees! At least, that's what our Bumblebee expert and author of the recently published Bees of Norfolk tells me. If you want to get a copy of Nick's excellent book, covering all 197 species of bees in Norfolk, pop into Cley NWT Bookshop - they have it on offer at the moment for less than £20!
