On Saturday 21st June we held a mini bioblitz at Stow Heath – the first at this relatively new site and an opportunity to establish a biodiversity baseline. On the Friday evening we did a spot of moth trapping and bat monitoring. On Saturday it was general surveying and a dragonfly hunt.

No particular highlights, but a couple of species of hawk-moth, Nuthatch, Sticklebacks in the beck, a few interesting plants and several butterflies, as well as seven species of dragonfly/damselfly.
It really is a lovely site – and we identified nearly 150 species, half of which were new records for the site.
