The sun did shine and hay was made

Fourteen volunteers – many of them super-scythers - arrived to help make hay on the Sustead sites on Thursday August 28th. Amongst them was our furthest flung volunteer - Connor from Stafford - and two new volunteers from Roughton, Ed and Doreen.
Trevor quickly gave everyone instructions - one party on the Sustead Common side and one in Spurrell's Wood, and the scythers scythed and the rakers raked and the tarpaulin carriers carried tarpaulins until all was done.

With rain on its way, we were lucky to have such a glorious morning for the annual haymaking. Thanks to all who came - especially to Connor for his two 4-hour drives!
Our next work party is at WBOA on the afternoon of Thursday September 11th when we will ,be making hay, with the BBQ and AGM to follow.
