Thornage Mill, Part 2

As we didn’t finish raking the Thornage Mill meadow two weeks ago – beaten by the heat – a small group of us met at the mill on another hot morning (luckily not as hot as before) to finish the job. We raked up the leavings at the far end of the meadow and then consolidated the piles, which will be allowed to rot down in situ. Luckily, two weeks of no rain meant that the hay was bone dry and still in a fit state for easy raking.
