Wet and Wild at Mannington

On Saturday 15th June we had a stand for Felbeck Trust at the Wild About Mannington event, alongside our sister club, North East Norfolk Bird Club. The weather was not in our favour and at times during the day there were more exhibitors than visitors – still we enjoyed it, and there were some great birds.

Highlights included Grasshopper Warbler, Spotted Flycatcher and a very unexpected but welcome raptor! It was a great opportunity to mingle with other wildlife groups and gain an insight into their activities.

Two of Felbeck Trust’s patrons dropped by during the day – Nick Acheson and Patrick Barkham – which was much appreciated. We also had a visit from a hoverfly which was clearly grateful for our collection of wild flowers.

Vision kept our younger visitors entertained with wildlife-themed word searches, colouring pages of flowers found at our sites, and leaf-rubbing.
