A wet morning at West Beckham Old Allotments

Thursday September 3rd – the first of our newly-introduced first-Thursday-every-month work parties – was supposed to be an opportunity to finish haymaking. However, early morning rain put paid to that so volunteers (all 9 of them) carried out a few essential tasks: tidying up the storage shed and re-arranging stacked timber, erecting a bench near the shed and doing a trial dig for a pond. So it was a shortened but very worthwhile work party, ending mid-morning.
