Thursday September 11th 2025: our annual get-together at West Beckham Old allotments to rake up and clear away the hay left after Peter R had mowed large sections of the meadows at WBOA. Around 20 of us turned up on a bright, if a little windy, afternoon to tidy away the mown grass. With so many people to hand, this was all done in around two hours, leaving beautifully tidy and very healthy meadowland.

Meanwhile, Bev and John R had been firing up the BBQs and, around 16.00 we were called to eat fabulous burgers and sausages – both vegetarian and otherwise. We sat in the sun for around an hour, chatting and eating in a manner befitting our volunteer group – happily, cheerfully and hungrily!

We were then summoned to the gazebo – a necessary shelter as the clouds gathered, the wind got up and the autumnal chill descended – for the AGM, which was, as usual, ably chaired by Trevor, who gave a succinct and inspiring account of the year gone by and of exciting plans for the coming years. We bade a sad farewell to the absent Helen, our wonderful secretary from the very inception of Felbeck Trust, and a warm welcome to Biddy, her equally wonderful replacement.

Thanks to all for attending, with special thanks to the two chefs.

Our next work party is on Thursday September 18th at Hindolveston and Wood Norton.
