Here's his first blog post:

The happy gang leaning on the new 'old' gate - pleased with their morning's work

The first work party of the autumn saw nine of us meet at Sustead Common on a glorious sunny morning. Three volunteers put up the new 'old gate' and two enormous posts on the western boundary of the Surveyor's allotment - it's really just a glorified Bard Owl perch!, whilst five of us worked around the east end of Gur Beck, clearing scrub and vegetation and creating a beck-side viewing terrace, and Lee, our expert scyther, cleared the rough meadow between the beck and the road. All in all, a very successful morning and it was good to see four new faces in the work party. Don't forget to check the website for future working party dates. I look forward to meeting you all in the months ahead. Peter
