Sustead Common gets a tidy-up

Nick hanging a bird feeder in the new position in front of the Spurrell's Wood hide

On Saturday, nine loyal FT volunteers turned out to give the Sustead Common Roadside Nature Reserve and Spurrell's Wood a winter tidy-up. Mowing the grass verge, clipping the hedge, bramble-bashing, de-silting the 'back-water' and fitting hide flaps were all on the agenda. We've also moved the Spurrell's Wood bird feeding station so it can be seen well from the hide and is better positioned to attract in farmland species over the winter. A very valuable and healthy morning for all involved.
