Rain Didn't Stop Play This Time

Rain didn't stop play today for our first 2020 volunteer work-party at West Beckham Old Allotments. Our intrepid band of volunteers did some more dock bashing and digging up, and then we sowed Yellow Rattle and grass seed in the disturbed areas to assist in the site restoration. The battle against the docks may take some time, but already the site has moved on from when we first acquired it with today's work adding to the tree planting and clearing already done. Future work parties will tackle some of the hedgerow ivy and we plan to install a source of water in the form of a shallow pond. A big thank you to our volunteers here's to a successful 2020.
