Storm brings branch down on Surveyor’s Allotment
The strong winds over the weekend of August 22nd/23rd brought a large oak branch down directly over the footpath through the Surveyor’s Allotment in Sustead, endangering walkers.
A Sustead dog-walker alerted a trustee who, in turn, alerted other trustees and volunteers. 5 people arrived at the scene within an hour. Three chains saws, two ordinary saws and a telescopic ladder enabled the offending branch and others surrounding it to be removed, sawn up and all the brush removed in the space of an hour. Many thanks to all who came to help!
